Tadgh "Theodore" Fitzpatrick

PIONEER IS DEAD

Theo Fitzpatrick, a native of Ireland, an aged resident of this city, died this morning at 11 o'clock at the family residence, 222 Colorado Avenue. Death was due to paralysis, with which Mr. Fitzpatrick had suffered two years, during the time gradually growing more feeble.

The deceased was born in Ireland in 1830 and came to America at the age of 17 years. Coming west to the newest part of the new country he was one of the earliest frontier pioneers, and fought in the Seminole war in 1856-58. When, after two years of service his company was discharged in Utah [and] he came back to Indian Territory on foot and since then had made Oklahoma his home.

In 1853 Mr. Fitzpatrick was married, thirteen children being born to the happy union of whom six, three daughters and three sons, survive their father. His wife preceded him to her Heavenly home three months ago, one son died a month ago, and a grandson four months ago. Mr. Fitzpatrick's death being the fourth in the family in four months.

The deceased moved to Chickasha seven years ago and is well known in Chickasha and the surrounding country. His many friends join in sympathy with the bereaved family.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Catholic Church, conducted by Father Urban, and the burial will take place at 2 o'clock at Fairview Cemetery.
