Funeral services for Earnest W. Turner, age 77, of Chickasha, are pending with McRay Funeral Home.

Earnest was born on March 23, 1927. He died February 3, 2005, in Chickasha.

Funeral for Earnest W. "Ernie" Turner, age 77, of Chickasha will be at 2:30 p.m., Monday, February 7, 2005, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Auld officiating and Rev. Alice Wendling assisting.

Ernie was born the son of Fred Turner and Myrtle Wesson Turner on March 23, 1927, in Binger, Oklahoma. He went to meet the Lord on February 3, 2005. Mr. Turner had been in failing health for several years.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under direction of McRay Funeral Home.

Funeral for Earnest W. "Ernie" Turner, age 77, of Chickasha will be at 2:30 p.m., Monday, February 7, 2005, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Auld officiating and Rev. Alice Wendling assisting.

Ernie was born the son of Fred Turner and Myrtle Wesson Turner on March 23, 1927, in Binger, Oklahoma. He went to meet the Lord on February 3, 2005. Mr. Turner had been in failing health for several years.

At age 17, Ernie joined the military and served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. Most of this time he served overseas. After his tour of duty, he made his home in Chickasha where he met his wife, Barbara. They were married on January 8, 1971, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Ernie was employed by Coca Cola Bottling Company for thirty-four years.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren which he adored. He also enjoyed outdoor activities and visiting with his friends.

Ernie was a member of the Full Gospel Lighthouse Church.

He was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Turner; parents, Fred and Myrtle Turner; two sisters, Jessie and Esther Faye Turner; one brother, Alfred Turner.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara June Turner of the home; grandson and wife, Arlo & Nicky Turner of Tulsa; grandson and wife, Charley & Rebecca Turner of Skiatook; grandson, Nate Turner of Tulsa; great granddaughter, Erica Turner of Tulsa; great grandson, Jaden Turner of Skiatook; sister and husband, Frankie & Marvin Bourque of Waco, TX; brother and wife, Calvin & Kay Turner of Laverty; brother and wife, Bill & Lois Turner of Duncan; brother and wife, Danny & Barbara Turner of Chickasha; sister-in-law, Sonja Turner of Laverty; many nieces, nephews & other relatives.

Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under direction of McRay Funeral Home.

Carol Corrine [Estes] Turner
August 1, 1935 ~ November 1972


Carol Corrine Turner was born August 1, 1935, the daughter of William McCurry & Lavada Estes.

She married Ernest W. Turner and had one son, Jimmy Dwayn Turner.

Carol was a devout Christian and a wonderful sister and mother.

She died of cancer at the age of 37 in November, 1972, leaving her very young and only child, Jimmie Dwayn Turner.

She was survived by parents: William McCurry & Lavada [Young] Estes; two brothers: Delbert and James Estes, seven sisters: Lisa Estes, Faye Loring, Mae Bellisomi, Juanita Smith, Dolores Sikes, Shirley Campoliano & Joy Kidwell.

She had three grandsons: Arlo, Charlie and Nathen Turner and two great grandchildren: Erica and Nathaniel, who she did not live to see.

Burial was November 21, 1972 in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Jimmie Dewayne Turner
January 5, 1954 ~ November 30, 1984


Jimmie Dewayne Turner was born January 5, 1954, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the son of Ernest W. & Carol Corrine [Estes] Turner. He passed away at the age of 30 on November 30, 1984, with a heart attack.

Jimmie was married to Debbie Turner. They had three sons. He was a very loving husband and father.

Jimmie was a big baseball player in Chickasha. A baseball field is named after him.

He was preceded in death by mother: Carol Corrine Turner; grandmother: Lavada Estes; cousin: Jesse Smith.

Survivors include: wife: Debbie Turner; sons: Arlo, Charlie & Nathen Turner; grandchildren: Nathaniel and Erica Turner, father: Ernest W. Turner.

Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery on December 4, 1984.
