Arthur R. Karnes
July 4, 1914 ~ June 3, 1990


Funeral for Arthur R. Karnes, 75, Chickasha, will be held at 3;30 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 1990, in First Baptist Church of Ninnekah. Rev. C. A. Spradlin, pastor of College Heights Baptist Church, will be officiating, assisted by Rev. Gary Caldwell, pastor of First Baptist Church of Ninnekah.

He was born July 4, 1914, in Quawpaw, and died Sunday, June 3, 1990, in Chickasha.

Mr. Karnes farmed most of his life. He had formerly lived in the Pocasset area. He worked for Swan Rubber Hose Company in Stillwater, moving to Chickasha following his retirement in 1978.

He and Anna Pelzer were married Sept. 5, 1934, in Anadarko.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ninnekah where he had formerly served as a deacon.

Mr. Karnes was preceded in death by one son, Dale Karnes; one granddaughter, Deborah Karnes; twin brothers, Alfred and Albert Pliler; three sisters, Gladys Pliler, Myrtle Clift and Grace Akin.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Karnes of the home; one son, Delbert Karnes of Edmond; three sisters, Ethel Short of Chickasha, Mell Cuniff of Sower Lake, Texas, and Edith Jocoy of Van, Texas; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Anna Emelia [Pelzer] Karnes
June 30, 1917 ~ September 10, 1991


Funeral for Anna Emelia Karnes, 74, Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday Sept. 13, 1991, in Ninnekah Baptist Church.

She was born June 30, 1917, near Verden, the daughter of Augustus and Martha [Capps] Pelzer. She died Tuesday, September 10, 1991 in Edmond.

Mrs. Karnes had formerly lived in the Pocasset area before moving to Perkins. She moved to Chickasha following her retirement in 1978.

Mrs. Karnes worked for Hicks Western Wear for several years. She worked at Oklahoma State University from 1975 to 1978.

She and Arthur Karnes were married Sept. 5, 1943 in Anadarko. He preceded her in death June 3, 1990.

Mrs. Karnes was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ninnekah.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Dale Karnes; one granddaughter, Deborah Karnes; and one brother, Albert Pelzer.

Survivors include one son, Delbert Karnes of Edmond; five brothers, Edward Pelzer, Walter Pelzer, G.E. Pelzer, all of California, Louie Pelzer of Bridgecreek and Willie Pelzer of Cement; one sister, Ruth Brickey of Grand Saline, Texas; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Jimmie Dale Karnes
December 22, 1938 ~ June 29, 1974


Funeral service for Jimmie Dale Karnes, 35, 1620 Calif., will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Sevier Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Hensley officiating and Rev. L. D. Wilkes, assisting.

Mr. Karnes was born December 22, 1938 in Verden. He lived in the Chickasha area for the last 14 years and in Chickasha the last 9 years.

He was employed by Chickasha Mobile Homes for eight years and for Perdue Housing for four and one half years. The last three weeks he had been self employed as a carpenter.

Mr. Karnes was a member of the First Bible Baptist Church in Chickasha. He had worked with the Little League program as a coach for eight years.

He died Saturday as a result of an automobile accident Saturday.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie of the home; three sons; Steven, Marty and Glen all of the home; one daughter Donna of the home; his parents Mr. and Mrs. A.R. Karnes of Stillwater, one brother, Delbert of Stillwater.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Glen Alan Karnes

Funeral service for Glen Alan Karnes of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 18th, 2014 at the Bible Baptist Church in Chickasha. Glen Alan Karnes was born September 27, 1968 in Chickasha. He was the son of Jimmie Dale and Marjorie [Jackson] Karnes. He died November 14, 2014 in Chickasha at the age of 46 years. Glen graduated from Chickasha High School. He competed in the Special Olympics for many years. He was an employee of the Chickasha Opportunity Center for 28 years.

His father, one sister, Deborah Jean Karnes, grandparents: Andrew and Velma Jackson, Arthur and Anna Karnes all preceded him in death. Survivors include: his mother: Marjorie Karnes of Chickasha, 2 brothers: Marty Karnes of Chickasha, Steven Karnes of Yukon, Sister: Donna Karnes of Lone Grove, Oklahoma, Nephew: Tyler Karnes and wife Holly of Lone Grove, Oklahoma, great niece and great nephew: Alexis and Parker Karnes of Lone Grove, Oklahoma, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends including a special friend Lanny Merchant.

Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, Oklahoma under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
