John Marvin Ayres Votaw "Jake" Jacobs
April 22, 1919 ~ June 27, 2008


Funeral service for John 'Jake' Marvin Ayers Jacobs, 89, of Chickasha will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, July 1, 2008, in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. John ‘Jake" Marvin Ayers Jacobs was born April 22, 1919 in Miles City, Montana, the son of Maxwell and Elizabeth [Votaw] Jacobs and died June 27, 2008 in Chickasha.

Mr. Jacobs was raised in Spokane, Washington. He attended North Central High in Spokane. He and Vera Andrews were married December 1,1946 in Coeur D'alene, Idaho. They were married for 62 years. They came to Chickasha 40 years ago. He was a salesman for Chickasha Mobile Homes, and he and his wife owned and operated the Mushroom Shoppe. Mr. Jacobswas active in sports as a player and coach for many years. He was a avid golfer. Mr. Jacobs served in the US Army during World War serving in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, New Guinea, and the Phillipines. He attended the Epworth United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie and Dorothy and one brother, William. Survivors include: his wife, Vera Jacobs of the home; two children: Gary Arthur Jacobs of Woolwich, Maine; and Merrill Reed Jacobs Sacramento, California; grandchildren: Ayren, Lindsay, Casey, Annie, and Ben; one great grandchild: Lucas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Vera E. [Andrews] Jacobs
June 24, 1918 ~ November 17, 2012


Funeral service for Vera E. Jacobs, 94, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, November 30, 2012 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.

Vera E. Jacobs was born June 24, 1918 in Renfrow, Oklahoma, the daughter of Arthur and Winifred [Beham] Andrews. She died November 17, 2012 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Vera grew up in Medford and graduated from Medford High School in 1936. She and John "Jake" Jacobs were married December 1, 1946 in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. They moved to Chickasha 47 years ago. Vera owned and operated the Mushroom Shoppe from 1970-2008. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball and the outdoors.

Vera was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by:

Son: Merrill Jacobs of Sacramento, CA

4 great grandchildren: Lucas, Delaney, Oriana and Nina
Several nieces and nephews

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
