Rev Ralph Lee Freeman

May 26, 1941 ~ December 18, 2017


On May 26, 1941 Ralph Lee Freeman was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Fred A. Freeman and Carmie B. [Pate] Freeman. He passed away Monday, December 18, 2017 in Cement, Oklahoma.

R.L. was welcomed into the family and grew up with his brother, Arnold Junior and sisters, Sharon and Kathy. He attended Chickasha Public Schools and worked various jobs throughout his life. For many years he drove a truck across the country. Later, R.L. retired from Justin Inc. where he worked with Floyd Reedy for many years.

He met Laquetta "Maria" Sharp and they were married and had three children, Ronnie, Randy, and Lanette. Later R.L.'s life started to change and he met Evelyn Jo Fox and they got married and had two sons, Wesley and Donald Gene.

R.L., known by many as "PawPaw", and Jo attended Full Gospel Church in Chickasha and R.L. loved to work in the church with Jo working right by his side. He was Superintendent for Pastor Alice Wendling for many years, even after Jo’s passing.

He continued to be faithful to God and was blessed with a new love, Donna Clift and her sons. R.L. and Donna were married and were affiliated with the Life Journey Church in Cement. He always put God first then his family. He enjoyed fishing and camping. He will be greatly missed.

R.L. was preceded in death by both parents; his wife, Evelyn Jo; brother, Arnold Junior Freeman; sister, Sharon Kay Simpson; and son, Randy Lynn Freeman.

Survivors include his wife, Donna, of the home; son, Wesley Freeman and wife, Christine, of Ninnekah; son, Donald Gene Freeman and wife, Felicia, of Tulsa; son, Ronnie Freeman and Sandra, daughter, Lanette Freeman and Sam, and daughter-in-law, Cleta Freeman, all of Ardmore; step-son, Derrek Clift and wife, Jessica of Cement; step-son, Justin Clift of Cement; sister, Kathy Comstock and husband, Roger of Arapaho; brother-in-law, Zearl Simpson of Oklahoma City; fifteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; many friends and other extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2017 in the Full Gospel Church with Pastor Aaron Bird officiating and Reverend Raymond McPherson and Pastor Alice Wendling assisting. Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Evelyn Jo Freeman, 51, of Chickasha, will be Saturday, September 23, 2000, at 10:30 a.m. in the Full Gospel Church with Sister Alice Wendling officiating.

Evelyn Jo Freeman was born June 20, 1948 in Oklahoma City, the daughter of Lloyd Fox and Lois Coday Fox. She died September 20, 2000 in Chickasha.

Jo grew up in Chickasha, attending Chickasha Public Schools. She married Rev. R.L. in Wichita Falls, TX on February 1, 1969.

Jo was a homemaker and housewife. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Jo was a very active member at the Full Gospel Church where she served as Secretary. For the last two years, Jo was employed at the One Dollar Shop.

She is preceded in death by both parents and one sister, Laverne Teresa Decker.

Jo is survived by her husband, Rev. R.L. Freeman, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Donnell Freeman of Chickasha; son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Shelley Freeman of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, a brother, Lloyd Fox of Anderson, CA; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Peggy Fox of Lewisville, TX; another brother, Coday Lee Campbell of San Diego, CA; two sisters, Reba McDonald of Airway Heights, Washington and Modean Campbell of Shawnee, Oklahoma; one aunt, Jo Higgins of Chickasha and one uncle, Sarge Coday of Clinton, Oklahoma; and nine grandchildren.

Internment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
