Ray P. Irvin
Funeral services for Ray P. Irvin age 74 of Tuttle, Oklahoma were held 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 24, 2005 in the Sowers Memorial Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Ray P. Irvin was born August 6, 1930 in Checotah, Oklahoma. He was the son of Luther Garvin and Ellen Mollet (Duckworth) Irvin. He died Saturday, May 21, 2005 in Oklahoma City.
He moved to Minco in 1935 and graduated from Minco High School in 1949.
He married Nancy Bea Heidelberg, July 22, 1949 in Minco.
While living in Minco he worked at Tinker Field until 1958 when he bought a farm east of Tuttle. He operated the dairy farm until he retired in 1971. He bought Irvin Packing Plant in Chickasha which he operated until 1976.
Mr. Irvin was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Tuttle and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He became an honorary member of the FFA in 1972. He was a member of the Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle. Mr. Irvin enjoyed football games and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents and he was the last of their six children.
Survivors include: His wife Nancy Bea Irvin of the home in Tuttle; two daughters: Donna Oden and husband Doyle of Moore, Karen Garrison and husband Roger of Tuttle; one son: Bennie Ray Irvin of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren: Jason Oden, Jennifer Davis, Shawn O'Hara, Rachel O'Hara, Scott O'Hara, Jeremy Don Irvin, and Jeffrey Dale Irvin; three Great Grandchildren: Savannah O'Hara, Dillon Davis and Shannon O'Hara.
Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery Minco, Oklahoma under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle.
