Lois Wayne "Butch" Evins
February 1, 1948 - August 31, 2018

Lois Wayne "Butch" Evins was born on February 1, 1948, in Denison, Texas, to Cecil and Eula [Buckner] Evins. He passed away on August 31, 2018, in Lindsay, Oklahoma, at the age of seventy.

Butch was raised in Bradley, Oklahoma. He graduated high school from Bradley High School in 1967, and following graduation joined the Army. He was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska, from 1967 to 1969. Later after serving his country, he worked as a licensed butcher in El Reno, Oklahoma. Then Butch moved back to the Lindsay area and made working in the oil field his trade until he became disabled and went to live with his sister Nealy.

Butch loved life and never met a stranger. He enjoyed making jokes and making people laugh. Butch was noted for his quippy quotes like: "Let it rip, tater chip." and "Don't let these jeans fool you!" As a young boy he enjoyed watching Sky King, one day while watching the show he announced "I'm going to shoot Sky King out of the sky!" He then preceded to point his BB gun at the TV and shot a hole in the screen! His friends will be reminded of Butch and how kind he always was, especially when they catch themselves using his very words. He will be greatly missed by family members and friends. His friends said, "Butch was the kind of person that was willing to give you the shirt off his back if you were in need."

Butch is survived by his siblings: Nealy Midkiff, Mazie Landrum and Tim Evins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Cecil Evins, Jr., Cora Patricia Niles, Danny Evins, Lou Herrin, Gert, and Joe Evins.

A memorial service for Butch is set for ten o'clock A.M. on Friday, September 7, 2018, at the Bradley Cemetery in Bradley, Oklahoma, with Mike Somers officiating.

Services are under the direction of Scott Wilbourn of Boydston-Wilbourn Funeral Home in Lindsay. Condolences may be made to the family online at www.boydstonfuneralhome.com
