RUTH BRASHEARS DIES IN CALIFORNIA

Miss Ruth Brashears, 24, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Brashears, for many years residents of the Hawkins community, and more recently of California, passed away at her home there on December 4, after a lingering illness.

Miss Brashears had lived in the Hawkins neighborhood since she was a small child, attending school there and at Alex, leaving there only last year after suffering ill health for some time, and removing to the western state with her parents in the hope that her health would improve.

The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Alex Missionary Baptist church, Rev. E. A. Smith conducting the services, with burial in the Bradley cemetery.

She leaves to mourn her loss the parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Brashears, two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Stewart of Alex and Mrs. Elmer Stewart of Lindsay, one brother, Troy, and a host of friends in Alex and at Hawkins. Ruth was born Dec. 3, 1912, at Paden, Oklahoma.
