COX CITY Funeral for Geinon Theatre "Chuck" Revels, 79, Cox City, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bailey Community Church with the Rev. Bill Love and Roger Carper officiating.

Mr. Revels passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at his home in Cox City.

Burial will be in Bailey Cemetery under direction of Fletcher Funeral Home.

Mr. Revels was born May 22, 1932, in Mayo, Fla., to Wilburn and Ada Revels, and was born again Sept. 28, 2002, when he received Christ.

He served in the Army, retiring after more than 20 years of service. A former Army Ranger, he served during the Cuban Missile Crisis, Vietnam and Korean wars. He also was stationed in Germany, France, Italy, Amsterdam, Thailand, Alaska, Guam and the Philippines. Among his many honors he received throughout his service is the Purple Heart.

In 1966, he married Stella Johnson Sizemore and became stepdad to her five children.

After retiring, he worked as a farmer and rancher, and also at the peanut plant at Rush Springs, and as a pumper in the oil field.

He loved baling hay, playing dominoes, attending church, and going to senior citizen dances. He loved visiting with his friends and family, and discussing politics during the many trips to Oklahoma City for his chemotherapy treatments. Even in his last days, he still had a sense of humor and words of wisdom for his family and neighbors.

Survivors include his wife, Stella Revels, of the home; two stepsons: Jim Sizemore and his wife Connie, Wagoner; and Gary Sizemore and his wife Terri, Tulsa; a stepdaughter, Vicki Sullivan and her husband Kim, Fletcher; a brother, Midge Revels, of Florida; four sisters: Betty Bowden, Dianne Page, Idell Bass, and Edna Atkins, all of Florida; nine grandchildren: Doug Sizemore, Chris Sizemore, Geoff Sizemore and his wife Andrea, Aaron Sizemore, Brock Loehr, Marc Loehr and his wife Kim, Brian Sullivan, Beth Sullivan, and Cody Sullivan; and five great-grandchildren: Amber Sizemore, Cammie Loehr, Alex Sizemore, Jeff McDonald and Jacob Sizemore.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn and Ada Revels; a daughter, Patricia Revels; two stepdaughters: Terry Sizemore and Sandra Kay Loehr; a sister, Evelyn Simmons; and fellow soldier, Sgt. Bill Bowers.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. todayat Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Rush Springs.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Cox City Baptist Church Building Fund.
