Gladys Mae [Riley] Justus
January 30, 1934 ~ September 22, 2018


Marlow: Gladys Mae Justus, departed this life on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at home. She was 84.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at the Bailey Community Church, with Rev. Preston Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Bailey Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.

Gladys was born Tuesday, January 30, 1934 in Sandy Grove, to Rueben R. and Gladys [Snow] Riley. She attended the Sandy Grove Elementary School and graduated from the Cox City High School. Gladys lived in the Cox City and Bailey area all of her life. She worked as a bookkeeper for many different places in the area including Martins Grocery Store, Junkins Grocery Store, Justus Plumbing, Marlow Co-op, Bray Gin, and the church. Gladys married the love of her life, William Arthur Justus on August 29, 1953. They were married for 65 wonderful years. She had a servants heart who took care of everyone and kept them all in line. Gladys was a hard worker that worked day and night. She was a very strong woman that worked at the farm during the day and at home at night. She was great at many things including sewing, crocheting and teaching which she taught children's church, vacation bible school as well as Sunday schools. Gladys was a good athlete all of her life and enjoyed watching all of her grandchildren sporting events.

Survivors include, her husband, William Arthur Justus of the home, 3 sons, Barry Justus and wife Lorie of Rush Springs, Greg Justus and wife Debbie of Marlow, Steve Justus and wife Kim of Duncan, a daughter, Brenda Pendley and husband Boyd of Rush Springs, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren. She was also survived by 4 brothers, William Riley of Lindsay, Lee Roy Riley and wife Sue of Chickasha, Johnny Riley and wife Rita of Chickasha, Mike Riley and wife Zoa of Duncan, a sister, Mary Jane David of Marlow, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Luther Riley, Rueben R. (Pete) Riley and a great-grandson, Tyler Wood.

Pallbearers will be: Bryson Justus, William "Bubba" Justus, Justin Justus, Josh Pendley, Ben Justus, and Stephen Spencer.
