Nadine Louise [Webb] Raffoul passed away Thursday, August 28, 2008, following a six month illness with lung cancer. She is survived by her husband, Paul R. Raffoul, three children: Kenneth, Lisa, and Patricia, seven grandchildren, and brother James Whitehead.
Nadine Louise [Webb] Raffoul was born on July 23, 1933, in Amber, Oklahoma the fourth child of Louise Dixie [Frields] Webb and Wallace Herman Webb. Her siblings included Shirley Marie Webb, Walter Wallace Webb and Frank Donald Webb, who are now deceased, and James Whitehead, who currently lives in Flagstaff, Arizona. She is also survived by her husband, three children, and seven grandchildren. Her children are Kenneth James Laney of Houston, Lisa Louise Hansen of Lake Livingston, and Patricia Dawn Sullens of Houston. Her seven wonderful grandchildren include: Jessica Louise Laney, Ryan James Ledendecker, Robert Kenneth Laney, Emily Harrison, Dakota "Cody" Wayne Sullens, Christian Gabrielle Bahlinger and Benjamin Whitman Laney.
Her husband of thirty-four years, Paul R. Raffoul, is an Associate Dean in the Graduate College of Social Work at the University of Houston.
Nadine, an enrolled agent with IRS, worked over 20 years for Richard D. Ricketts and his wife "Pat" as their personal accountant and bookkeeper.
She was an avid reader, daily crossword puzzle completer (including Saturdays), a sanctioned league bowler (with over 160 average), a weekly bridge player (with Curt, Miriam, Shirley and Virginia) and a scrabble aficionado.
She especially loved her children, seven grandchildren, and her husband, "Pablo."
In her later years, while in "semi-retirement," weekends were spent at their lakehouse at Lake Livingston, Texas where she raised lots of flowers, especially her plumeria flowers, and continued her sewing, making photo albums, and playing scrabble with her children, Ken, Lisa and Patricia, and her grandchildren Jessica and Robert.
She will be sorely missed by her family and everyone who knew her as she was loved by everyone she met.
A celebration of her life will be held between 6-10 pm at Paradigm Funeral Home, 6605 S. Rice Blvd., in Bellaire, on Friday, August 29, 2008. Burial will be at the Amber Cemetery, Amber Oklahoma on Sunday, August 31, 2008 at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her memory to Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX. 77030-4123 or American Cancer Society.
