Joe Nunn Dies At Noon Today

Joe Nunn, 72, of Chickasha, Route 3, died about noon today in a local hospital, which he had entered Friday. He had been in failing health for some time.

Mr. Nunn, had been farming for years.

Funeral arrangements are being made by Chickasha funeral home.

Nunn Funeral Service Set Thursday Afternoon

Funeral services for Joe Thomas Nunn, 72, who died Tuesday in a local hospital, will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the chapel of the Chickasha Funeral home with Rev. Kenneth Garrison, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating.

Mr. Nunn was born Sept. 9, 1872, at Cumberland, Ky., and later moved to Decatur, Texas, where he was a range rider and a cattle puncher. After moving to Chickasha he was engaged in farming until a few years ago when he was forced to retire because of ill health.

Mr. Nunn had been a resident of Chickasha for the past 52 years. He was a member of the Christian church.

He married Jessie Payne, daughter of Mashack and Margaret Payne of Amber, on January 16, 1901, in Chickasha.

Mr. Nunn is survived by his wife, Jessie; one brother, Hillrey Nunn, Texas; and a half-sister, Mrs. Julia Fletcher, Kansas City, Mo.

Interment will be in the Amber cemetery.
