Jerry Eugene Clark, 22, an employee of Shebester, Inc. of Pauls Valley, was killed about 9:30 a.m. Monday when a windstorm toppled the rig on which he was working.
Clark, who lived on route one, Wayne, was working in the derrick on a lease a mile northwest of Madill when the storm struck.
Winds in the area were estimated as high as 80 to 90 miles an hour in gusts.
A fellow employee, Edward Bolles, suffered a skinned leg but did not require hospital treatment. Other workers at the rig escaped injury.
Ralph Shebester reported this is the first time one of his rigs has blown over since he has been in business.
Clark was born Jam. 24, 1939 in St. Louis, Okla. The last 13 years e had lived in and around Wayne, where he moved from Pauls Valley.
He was a member of the Rosedale Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Rosedale Baptist Church with the Rev. Dallas Smith, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery at Pauls Valley, under direction of Stufflebean Funeral Home.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Mackey Clark, route one, Wayne; two sisters, Sharon Kaye and Linda of the home and one brother, Bob of New Orleans.
