Funeral services for Marcelene Webster Pyle, 78, of Maysville were held Sept. 20, 2005 at First United Methodist Church of Maysville with the Rev. Roger Perry and the Rev. Joe Ray Coppenbarger officiating. Interment was at Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home.
Mrs. Pyle died Sept. 16, 2005 at Purcell Municipal Hospital.
She was born Feb. 5, 1927 in Maysville, the daughter of Golden Grady and Lenes Ramsey Webster. Marcelene, or as some called her "Butch," had lived in this area most of her life. She attended school at Blanton View and Wayne.
On Aug. 22, 1945 she married C.F. Pyle in Maysville. They reared two boys, Jerry and Ronnie, and worked in the community at various jobs.
Mr. and Mrs. Pyle owned and operated the APCO Service Station in Maysville, had the first Dairy Queen and raised show pigs with the boys’ help.
Mrs. Pyle worked at Storm Plastics for a number of years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Maysville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jerry; her husband, C.F. Pyle and a brother, Grady Webster.
Survivors include one son, Ronnie Pyle, of the home; one grandson; one brother, John Paul "Dick" Webster and his wife, Maudie, of Purcell; two sisters, Jacqueline Moore of Purcell and JoAnn Ritter and her husband, Odell, of Maysville and three great-grandchildren.
