Earl Gene Duggan

Funeral services will be conducted by Peters Funeral Home for Earl Gene
Duggan, age 66, on Wednesday, December 29, 2004, at Rosedale Pentecostal Church of
God, at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Mark Roberts officiating. Interment will follow
at Shafter Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at Peters Funeral Home
today from 2 to 8 p.m.
Earl was born in Lindsay, Oklahoma, to Clyde and Alice Duggan, on October 22,
1938. The family moved to Kern County in 1939, and Earl attended the local
schools, and Shafter High School. He married Vickie Cardwell on Nov. 11, 1956,
in Shafter and spent the first few years of the marriage serving his country in
the U.S. Navy. Earl worked for many years as a welder and retired from Turner
Crane Services after many years of employment. He enjoyed fishing and was a
motorcycle enthusiast, and passed his love of motorcycles on to his children.
He also enjoyed golfing and spent as much time on the golf course as possible.
Earl is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Vickie; his son, Jerry and
wife, Sally; daughter, Ranae and husband, Scott Russell all of Bakersfield;
twin brother, Murl and wife, Mary, brother, Pete and wife, Kay; sister, Helen
and husband, L.D. Jackson; 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many
nieces and nephews. Earl was a wonderful person and enjoyed his family and friends
wholeheartedly, he will be greatly missed.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Denis Maddox for the
excellent medical attention he provided.
