Funeral services for William "Bill" Marsell DeBurger, 77, of Purcell were held Oct. 5, 2005 at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Brown officiating. Interment was at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay under the direction of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Mr. DeBurger died Oct. 3, 2005 at Wadley Care Center.
He was born April 23, 1928 in Bessie, Okla., the son of Ernest and Etta (Linton) DeBurger. He was reared in Bessie, attending school at See Chapel and Bradley.
Mr. DeBurger was inducted into the United States Army, serving during World War II.
He and Florence Mann married in 1971 at Lake Tahoe, Nev.
Mr. DeBurger was a truck driver and a member of the Yukon Moose Lodge.
He attended Lindsay Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Florence; a brother, L.D. DeBurger and a sister, Orebel Knapp.
Survivors include his companion, Louise Wilhoit of Purcell; one son, Donald Toole of Birmingham, Ala.; a sister, Bonnie Fielder of Purcell and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Flipper Ellyson, Bruce Enox, James Wadley, Les Schall and Charles Tollison.
Honorary pallbearers were Craig Fielder, Mike Knapp and Bill Cantrell.
