Boydsten Funeral Home Lindsay, Oklahoma October 2020 September 30, 1941 ~ October 10, 2020 Vernon Ray "Pop" Johnson, was born on September 30, 1941, in Lindsay, Oklahoma, to Herbert 'Red '' Johnson and Tiny "Mae" [Dutton] Johnson. He passed from his life on October 10, 2020, in Crowley, Texas, at the age of 79. Pop was a resident of Lindsay for most of his life. He was a member of the First Assembly of God in Lindsay. He spent most of his working career as the meat market manager at Goodner’s in Lindsay. He proudly served his Country as military police in the United States Army. Pop loved spending time with his grandchildren and children. His family was his greatest treasure in life and he lived for the moments spent with them. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Caroline [Johnson] Vigilante and Janet [Johnson] Eurie, a sister, Audrey Beavers, and his grandchildren, Jeremiah and Lila Eurie. He is preceded in death by his parents Herbert “Red” and Tiny “Mae” Johnson. A graveside service to honor the life of Pop is set to begin at the Erin Springs Cemetery in Erin Springs, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Scott and Angel Wilbourn of Boydston-Wilbourn Funeral Home in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Condolences may be made to the family online at www.boydstonfuneralhome.com |
