Evelyn Naomi [Orr] Henderson
February 24, 1923 ~ June 17, 2023


Evelyn Naomi Henderson of Elmore City, Oklahoma was born to Robert Lincoln and Tina Haseltine []Bell] Orr on February 24, 1923, in Savanna, Oklahoma and passed from this life on June 17, 2023, in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 100 years and 114 days.

Evelyn grew up in Pittsburg County, near Chun Creek in Savanna, Oklahoma, and moved to Tussy-Pernell area in the 1930's.

She attended school at Pernell, along with her brother, R. L., Warren, Bobby Lee, and sister Gertrude. On July 15, 1939,

Evelyn married Morris Henderson in Davis, Oklahoma.

Evelyn was a homemaker, owner of Henderson's Antiques, and secretary for Henderson Construction.

She was a long-time member of the Church of Christ.

In her spare time, Evelyn enjoyed antique collecting. Her favorite time spent, however, was caring for and raising grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The highlights of her life were raising three children, love for her family, God, life, and being a lifelong Christian.

Evelyn taught resiliency and adaptation to challenging life experiences to her family by her example. Her ability to "bounce back in the face of enormous adversity" will always be remembered by those that knew and loved her.

Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by: Husband: Morris Henderson; Son: Reggy Henderson; Parents: Robert and Tina Orr; Brothers: Robert Lincoln, Warren, and Bobby Lee Orr; Sister: Gertrude Deloris Orr Hunnicut; Grandson: Elliott Henderson.

Funeral services are at the Church of Christ in Elmore City.

Interment will be in the Elmore City Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.

Carol Henderson
August 25, 1936 ~ July 22, 2022


Carol Henderson passed from this life on July 22, 2022, at the age of 85 years. He was born on August 25, 1936, in Maysville, OK to Hushel and Edith Henderson.

Carol went to Pernell Public Schools, graduating in 1955. From there, he went to an electronics school in Wichita Falls, TX.

Carol married the love of his life, Marcena Pickens, on August 4, 1956, in Elmore City, OK.

He was employed at JC Yates Furniture in Ardmore, OK, he owned and managed a country grocery and gas station in Pernell, OK, and he was also employed at Sun Refinery in Duncan, OK. He loved the farm life, so he enjoyed raising cattle, hay and pecans.

Carol enjoyed horseback riding, therefore; he was a member of the Pernell Round Up Club, he enjoyed roping and he was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Carol retired in Mead, OK on Lake Texoma so he could focus on fishing.

Carol never met a stranger. He always had a story to tell and most of them were true. Everyone that ever knew him, loved him.

Carol was preceded in death by his parents- Hushel and Edith Henderson, brother- Garland, son-in-law-Bruce Kennedy and nephew-Joe Allen Floyd.

He was survived by his wife, Marcena; sisters- Wanda Floyd of Duncan, OK and Oletha Blackburn of Marlow, OK; son Keith and wife DeAn Henderson of Mead, OK, daughter Sherry Kennedy of Elmore City, OK; grandchildren-Mikel Henderson, Katharine Kennedy, Ashley Brown and husband Matt, Krista Bleer and husband Luke, all of Elmore City, OK and Dena Stephens and husband Tanner of Davis, OK.

Grandad’s pride and joy was his great grandson’s: Weston, Lane, Colten, Brix, Cameron and Ty.

A visitation is set for Monday, July 25, 2022 a short time for reflection and prayer begins at 4:00 PM and visitation until 6:00 PM at Brown's Funeral Service in Durant.

Burial will be private, as Carol will be laid to rest in Elmore City, Oklahoma.

Reginald Paul "Reggy" Henderson
January 14, 1943 ~ February 9, 2019


Reginald “Reggy” Paul Henderson of Elmore City, Oklahoma was born to Morris Stephens and Evelyn Naomi [Orr] Henderson on January 14, 1943 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and passed from this life on February 9, 2019 in Davis, Oklahoma at the age of 76 years.

Reggy grew up and attended school in Elmore City, Oklahoma.

In his younger days, Reggy pulled his sister Marcia around in a wagon, and enjoyed playing with his friends.

To be cool, he would roll his cigarette pack in his t-shirt sleeve like James Dean.

While in high school, Reggy obtained Chapter Star Farmer in FFA. He had the highest score of any Elmore City student of Hoards Dairy Farmer Judging Contest under Maurice Cantwell, FFA Advisor.

He was an All-District Half Back in 1961.

Reggy loved shop and showing livestock. He was class president his Senior year and Outstanding Boy of Elmore City his junior year. He graduated from Elmore City High School in 1961 and then attended Murray State College. He received his bachelor’s degree at East Central University.

His internship for medical technology was at Valley View Hospital in Ada and Pauls Valley General Hospital. Reggy later worked for the Pauls Valley State School until his health failed. He also trained race horses at Henderson Heights Farm.

The highlights of his life were the marriages of his children, births of his grandchildren, and taking care of the flower bed at church.

He taught others the importance of believing and trusting in the Lord and spreading the gospel.

In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, spending time with family, fishing, raising canaries, drinking coffee at the Badger Den and attending worship services.

Mr. Henderson is survived by: Sons: Shawn Henderson and Jayson Corro Daughters: Shelia Kimbro and Tiffany Knight Mother: Evelyn Henderson Brother: Stephen Henderson Sister: Marcia Bennett 7 grandchildren: Shauni Kimbro, Sydnee Corro, Jarin Corro, Landin Henderson, Lukas Henderson, Haylen Knight and Rylen Knight.

Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by: Wife: Betty Jo Henderson in 1979 Father: Morris Henderson Brother: Larry Henderson Nephew: Elliott Henderson

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the Church of Christ in Elmore City with Joe Terrell officiating.

Interment will be in the Elmore City Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
