Melvin Leo "Miles" Watts, Sr.

February 9, 1962 ~ March 23, 2019

Melvin Leo (Miles) Watts, Sr., of Davis, passed away March 23, 2019 in Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 57 years.
Melvin was born February 9, 1962 in Sulphur, Oklahoma to mom, Rosia Mae Watts and dad, Pierce D. Miles. He was raised in the Tatums, Oklahoma area and has made Davis his home for over 30 years. He and Nell L. Johnson were married in Sulphur, Oklahoma on May 30, 1997 He was a Tire Builder at Uniroyal Tire at Ardmore. He was a Veteran of the Army National Guard and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Pierce D. and Rosie Watts Miles; grandparents, Ike and Corene Miles, Rosie Williams, and George Breath, Sr; two nephews, Lavon Sampson and Quincy Sampson; and one sister in law, Melody Wright.

His surviving family include: his wife, Nell L. Watts of the home; four children, Melvin Watts, Jr, of Davis; Somer Watts of Gainesville, Texas; Taylor Davis and husband, Taylor, of Ada; and Jacob Watts of the home; God children, Torin Grant Woulard, and Brooklyn Green; one grandchild, Tayson Davis of Ada; three brothers, Samuel Watts and wife, Verna, of Tatums; Jimmy Miles and wife, Taunja, of Oklahoma City; and Jericho Watts and wife, Candis, of Tatums; six sisters, Maye Taylor and husband, Micheal, of Oklahoma City; Maxine Swindalll and husband, Larry "Panther", of Tatums; Tonni Sampson of Norman; Eva Woody of Ardmore; Jannie Miles, of Tatums; and Amie Watts Grant of Lawton; mother in law, Wilma Johnson of Pauls Valley; and father in law, Robert Johnson, of Lawton.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 29, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Trinity Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Michael Eaton. Interment will be at Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
