Adelia Augusta Van Hauen, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Shroeder, was born December 18, 1911, near Douglas and departed this life after a five weeks' illness, March 31, 1932, age 20 years, 3 months, and 13 days. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the age of 14 and was a member of the Fairmont Lutheran church.
On December 19, 1931, she was married to Steve Van Hauen and they established a home one mile south of Fairmont. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, parents, two sisters, Velma and Traqula of the home, her grandmother, Mrs. Augusta Hatterman, grandfather, Mr. William Shroeder, and many other relatives. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Mueller in charge and interment made in Zion Lutheran cemetery.
