The funeral for Kristy Kay Shafer, 49, will be 2 p.m. today, April 28, 2009, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Kenneth Wade will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery , Fairmont.

She was born Jan. 5, 1960, in Enid to Jack Dean and Idalene Julia Harland McVicker and died Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Integris Bass Baptist Medical Center.

She grew up in Enid and graduated from Enid High School. She worked as a nurse's aide and in medical records at Enid Memorial Hospital. She was working at Integris Bass Baptist Medical Center as a coder in the emergency department. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Nikki Kay Juhnke of Enid; one sister, Debbie Majors of Enid; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to SPCA.
