Miranda Eggers Mellies
Miranda Caroline, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore A. Eggers, was born on September 13, 1915, and departed this life on April 5, 1934, at Pasadena, Calif., age 18 years, 7 months and 22 days. She with her twin brother were dedicated to God by Christian baptism at an early age, and she was confirmed and became a member of the Lutheran church at Fairmont on May 4, 1930. She was united in marriage with Mr. Clyde Mellies on September 10, 1933, and she and her husband went to California to spend the winter with relatives. Mrs. Mellies became ill and on April 28 her baby was born. The little one is being cared for in an incubator in a hospital in Pasadena. Besides her husband and infant son, she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Eggers, five brothers, Alfred, Everett, Marion, Merl and Edwin, and two sisters, Lorine and Opal Eggers, all of Fairmont. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 10, at the Lutheran church at Fairmont with Rev. H. Mueller, pastor, conducting the services. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. The remains were interred in the Zion Lutheran cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Eggers and family have the heartfelt sympathy of a host of friends in the death of their wife, daughter and sister.
