Zion Lutheran Cemetery


Funeral service for Alfons U. Helberg, 84, of Fairmont, will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2012, at Zion Lutheran Church, Fairmont. The Rev. Tim Dorsch will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Alfons was born Dec. 31, 1928, in Fairmont, Okla., the son of Ernest and Anna (Buschmeyer) Helberg.

Alfons graduated from Garber High School. He was a farmer all of his life, also working for the county for several years, working from 1996 to 2003. Alfons was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Alfons is survived by several nieces and nephews and close friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
