Zion Lutheran Cemetery


The funeral for Adelee Pearl Amelia Gerken, 82, of Fairmont, will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lu-theran Church of Fairmont. Rev. Tim-othy Dorsch will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Fairmont. There will be a time of visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. today. The casket will be open at the funeral home and closed at the church. Arrange-ments are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

She was born Oct. 23, 1924, in Garber, OK to Martin and Nelda (Cramer) Meier and died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007 at their home. She lived in Fairmont all her life.

She married Arnold Gerken Sept. 8, 1942, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Enid. She worked at Evans Drug as a pharmacist’s assistant.

She moved to Florida with Arnold during basic training with the Army and then moved back to Fairmont, OK. She enjoyed doing needlepoint and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Adelee is survived by her husband, Arnold of the home; son, Dennis Gerken and wife Barbara of Fairmont; daughter, Dian Stringer and husband Mike of Kansas City, MO; brother, Ralph Meier and wife Lora of Enid; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Verneida Cox.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lutheran Hour or Hospice Circle of Love with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home acting as custodian of the funds.
