LOCAL RESIDENT DIES SUDDENLY
Kaspar Thain, aged 67 years, 11 months and 23 days, died suddenly of heart failure at his home northwest of town Monday afternoon. Mrs. Thain and some of the children had been to Enid and returned only a short time before his death.
While they were eating a late lunch, Mr. Thain complained of feeling chilly and went into a bedroom and laid down. In a short time he came out for a drink of water complaining of a queer burning sensation in his throat. He repeated this action in a short time. Mrs. Thain then went into the room to change clothes and noticing that he was breathing queerly, she asked him what was the matter. He was able to turn his head toward her but died before she could reach the bed. He had been in his usual good health and ate dinner at noon of the day of his death.
He is survived by his widow, four sons, Charles, George, Melvin and Harry; three daughters, Ellen, Alma, and Elsie, all of the home. One son, Earnest died in infancy.
Two brothers George Thain of Drummond, and Charles Thain of Waukomis, two sisters, one at Norman and one at Bessie and other relatives also survive him.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the home and at the Lutheran church at 2 o'clock. The funeral address was given by Rev. Ph. Roesel and burial made in the Lutheran cemetery.
M.W. Wood, of Lahoma, was the undertaker in charge.
