PROMINENT FARMER DIES
Chris Rathjen, Sr., aged 61 years, died at his home southeast of Lahoma at about 9 o'clock Monday, following an illness of several weeks' duration.
Mr. Rathjen had been a resident of this community since 1900 coming here from Nebraska. He was born in Germany, coming to this country at the age of 17 years.
The wife, five sons, D.H., Chris Jr., Paul, John and Herman; one son, Henry died about a year and a half ago; four daughters, Mrs. Edwin Brackage, Mrs. John Kuhnemund and the Misses Adelheid and Annie Rathjen; all of whom reside in this community; besides other relatives, are left.
The funeral at last notice was planned for Friday afternoon at the Lahoma Lutheran church. Rev. Roesel will deliver the funeral discourse and burial will be made in the Lutheran cemetery.
