YOUNG MAN DIES
Rhineholt Mueche Passes Away After Long Illness.
Rhineholt Muecke, the 18-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Muecke, died Sunday morning at 7 o'clock at the home of his parents, just east of town. The attending physician gave as the cause of death post typhoid paralysis and diphtheria as the contributory cause.
The funeral services were held from the home Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Philip Roesel, pastor of the German Lutheran church, conducting the services. The services were largely attended, many of the business houses in town closing during the funeral as a mark of respect to the dead boy, who was universally esteemed.
A year ago last spring the Muecke children, two sons and a daughter, were stricken with typhoid fever. Again the following fall they had a second attack of the disease and the oldest son, Charles, died at that time. The daughter recovered, but ever since that time, the other son, Rhineholt, has practically been an invalid and under the care of a physician the greater part of the time. On October 12, he contracted diphtheria and although he passed through that ordeal, it proved to much for him in his weakened condition, and he passed away early Sunday morning.
The heartfelt sympathy of the community goes out to the bereaved family in their sore affliction.
August Muecke and wife and Henry and Julius Muecke and Joe Jauer came from their homes in Iowa to attend the funeral.
