Friends of the family of Otto Marquardt were much surprised to learn of the death of Miss Anna Marquardt last Thursday night. She had been sick but a few days and her death came as shock to the community. The funeral was held at the German Lutheran Church in Lahoma Saturday and a large number of people, friends and relatives of the bereaved family were present to witness the last sad rites. She was buried in the German Lutheran Cemetery near Lahoma.
Miss Anna Marquardt was born in Janesville, Minn., September 11th, 1893, and came to Oklahoma with her parents in 1900. She resided in the neighborhood of Lahoma until the time of her death.
In the death of Miss Marquardt we fully and keenly realize our loss. She was a true friend, and her devotion to those she loved would make a bright chapter, in any life. Nothing but the thought of the loving hand that has removed her can reconcile us to her absence. While she has gone from the scenes, the conflicts, the sorrows and pleasures of life, she will still live in the hearts of those who knew her best. She was a kind, loving daughter, and her devotion to the family circle had no limit. Her future was full of promise, and we dare not ask why she was taken from us in her prime, unless, as flowers are picked before the frost finds them that we may not witness their decay.
