FUNERAL FOR AGED WOMAN
Anna Marie Kuehnemund, nee Kurtz, was born January 24, 1836, near Neuwied, in the Prussian Rhine Province, Germany. At the age of seven years, she came with her parents to this country, the family locating at Florence, Mo. She was twice married, the first time to Henry Brunkhorst, the second time to Johann Friedrick Kuehnemund, both living near Stover, Mo. Her first husband died in 1873, the second in 1926, at the age of over 90 years. In 1910 the aged couple came to Lahoma, Okla., to her son, Herman.
Mrs. Kuehnemund, for several years, had been almost totally blind. Last year she began to grow quite weak until she finally was constantly confined to her bed. Also her memory now became weak. Nevertheless, to the last she understood what was said to her, also the comfort from the Holy Scripture. During her infirmity, she was faithfully attended by her children. Last Friday morning at about 11 o'clock, she passed away peacefully at the age of 93 years and 21 days.
She leaves the following children: Mrs. Catherine Young, of Stover, Mo.; Fred Brunkhorst, Waumeta, Nebr.; Christ Brunkhorst, at present of Lahoma; Mrs. Mary Nolte of Great Bend, Ks.; and Herman Kuehnemund, Sr., of Lahoma.
Besides these, two sons-in-law, two daughters-in-law and a number of grand children and great grand children.
Burial was from the Lutheran church Monday afternoon at the Lutheran cemetery. Text of the funeral oration was Is 53:5, "With his stripes we are healed."
M.W. Wood was the undertaker in charge.
