PROMINENT FARMER DIES
George Johnson, a well known and prominent farmer of this community died at his home north of town at 3:30 p.m. Saturday June 19th , aged 62 years.
Mr. Johnson had never fully recovered from the influenza, which he had last December and which developed into pneumonia. After this he had a bad case of rheumatism and was finally carried off by an attack of acute congested nephritis.
He had been a resident of this community for about fifteen years, coming here with his family from Alcester, South Dakota.
He leaves, besides his widow, a family of 6 daughters and four sons, as follows: Mrs. Herman Rankin of Douglas, Okla.; Mrs. W. J. Pereboom, Hawarden, Iowa; Martha, Marie, Emma and Henrietta Johnson, who are living at home; Henry and John of Lahoma; and George Jr. and Will Johnson who live at home.
The funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Lutheran church, Rev. P.H. Roesel delivering the funeral oration. The remains were interred in the Lutheran cemetery, north of town.
The family has the sympathy of the community in their bereavement.
