White Cemetery


Funeral for Evain F. Veit, 61, of Hunter, will be 2 PM Monday in the Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Clarence Schultz officiating. Burial will be in the White Cemetery at Hunter by Ladusau – Evans Funeral Home.

Veit died Saturday in a local hospital, August 4, 1979.

He was born April 20, 1918 at Lone Wolf and moved to the Hunter community 40 years ago. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War I I and married Virginia Campbell July 26, 1943.

Mr. Veit, a farmer for the past 33 years, raised greyhounds and was a member of the National Greyhound Association. He served on the Hunter school board for eight years and was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Merril Jan Veit.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Carol Reid of Tahlequah and Karma Veit of Norman; a son, Dean of the home; his mother, Veit of Enid; two brothers, Orville of Deerfield, Illinois, and Melvin of Kingsville, Missouri; a sister, Willanna Klause of Rochester, Minnesota; and two grandchildren.

The body will be at Ladusau – Evans Funeral Home until noon Monday and then at the Redeemer Lutheran Church until the service.

Memorials may be made to the Bass Linear a Accelerator Fund or Redeemer Lutheran Church with the funeral home acting as custodian of the fund.
