The funeral service celebrating the life of Maurine Ridgway, 96, of Enid is 2 p.m. today, Dec. 1, 2015, in the Hunter Christian Church with the Rev. Nathan Nance and the Rev. Don Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at White Cemetery in Hunter under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

She was born March 13, 1919, at home south of Hunter to Virgil and Sallie Campbell Ridgway. She attended Eureka Country School and graduated from Hunter High School in 1937. She attended Enid Business College, graduating in 1939. During World War II, she worked in the office of machine parts control and personnel department of the Douglas Airplane Plant in Tulsa.

She later worked for Enid Transfer and Emrick’s storage. She has been a member of Hunter Christian Church for over 70 years.

She is survived by nieces Cynthia and husband, Robert Smith of Enid, Sallie and husband Mark Lamb of Pond Creek, nephew Forrest and wife, Linda Ridgway of Enid, four great-nieces, three great-nephews, three great-great-nephews, and two great-great-nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, twin brother, Maurice, brother Cam, sister Roberta, niece Carol Penley and grandnephew Bryan Johnson.

A special thank you to Hospice Circle of Love, Burgundy Place, Hunter Christian Church and Central Christian Church.

Memorials in her memory may be made to the Hunter Christian Church or the White Cemetery with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
