John Monroe Campbell

Services for Monroe Campbell, 90, who died Monday after an extended illness will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the Hunter United Methodist Church,

Campbell was born June 29, 1887 in Morris County, near Council Grove, Kansas. In 1895 the family moved near Breckinridge, Oklahoma where he grew up. He and Marie Mastney were married Nov. 8th 1909 in Salt Fork. They celebrated their 68 anniversity last November.

He is survived by his wife Marie, of an Enid Nursing home, a son John Campbell; Four daughters, Agnes Marsolf, Mrs. Virginia Veit, Francis Grammer, of Kansas, Mrs. Dorothy Hannon, three brothers, and two sisters, 19 grandchildren, 25 gr grandchildren, and 2 gr gr grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Eldon and Charlie, a granddaughter and a great grandson, and six brothers.

Mrs. Monroe (Marie) Campbell

Marie Campbell, 90, died Fri. morning in a local nursing home where she had lived for the past 8 years.

She was born Oct. 4, 1891 in Hostakov, Morivia, now Czechoslovakia and came to the United states July 28, 1903 with her parents John and Mary Mastny. The family settled in Clarkson, Neb. and in 1905 they moved to the Breckinridge community. She and Monroe Campbell were married Nov. 9, 1908. Her husband died May 1, 1978. Mrs. Campbell has lived in the Hunter area for 50 years.

She is survived by a son John Campbell; four daughters, Agnes Marsolf, Mrs. Virginia Veit, Francis Grammer, of Kansas, Mrs. Dorothy Hannon, 18 grandchildren, 28 gr grandchildren, and 4 gr gr grandchildren.She was preceded in death by two sons, Eldon and Charlie, a granddaughter and a great grandson, five brothers and a sister,

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Hunter United Methothist Church. Burial will be in the White Cemetery under the direction of Anderson Funeral Home, Garber.
