Myrtie and Harry AYERS

White Cemetery


Hunter – Myrtie Elizabeth Ayers, 95, died Monday in Wichita, Kansas, after a lengthy illness. Her funeral will be at 2:30 PM Wednesday in the Hunter Baptist Church with the Rev. Carlos Berry officiating.

Burial will be in the White Cemetery at Hunter, with arrangements under the direction of the Anderson Funeral Home of Garber.

A flower service at 1:30 PM will precede the funeral.

Mrs. Ayers was born April 8, 1889, at Caldwell, Kansas, the daughter of William and Mary Bryant. She came with her parents to Oklahoma at the opening of the Cherokee Strip and grew up in the Hunter community.

She and Harry Ayers were married at Salt Fork. He preceded her in death in 1963.

Mrs. Ayers was a member of the Hunter Baptist Church and the Mothers Club. She had lived in Wichita for the past few years.

Mrs. Ayers is survived by two daughters, Blanche Brown and Edith Henderson, both of Wichita; eight grandchildren; 17 great – grandchildren and seven great – great – grandchildren.
