Betty and Dr. Bill SNODGRASS

Waukomis Cemetery

A graveside service for Betty Snodgrass will be held at 2:00 P.M., today, February 13, 2018 in the Waukomis Cemetery with Pastor Michael Frisbie officiating. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Betty Jean Hromas Snodgrass was born to Frank and Agnes (Troska) Hromas on October 19, 1929, in their farm home west of Waukomis. She peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on February 10, 2018. Betty attended Morningstar School and graduated from Waukomis High School in 1947. Following graduation, she worked at Jung Motor Company in Waukomis. On June 1, 1951, she married Bill Snodgrass, and they made their home in Waukomis. In 1962, Betty joined the staff of Waukomis State Bank, retiring as vice president in 1988. Betty loved her family and her community. After retiring from the bank, she delivered Meals on Wheels in Waukomis for several years. The Christmas gift of an iPad from her grandsons brought her continued joy as she was able to stay in touch with the lives of family and so many friends. She regularly shared news from her Facebook connections via phone calls to family.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her sister Marie Cox, Norman, and brothers Frank Hromas and Ted Hromas, both of Waukomis.

She leaves behind four children, Kristi (Al) Vculek, Waukomis; Kent (Susan Appel) Snodgrass, Champaign, Illinois; Kelli Thedford, Waukomis; and Kurt (Rhonda) Snodgrass, Norman. Her grandchildren are Erin (Matt) Schovanec; Jan (Duncan) MacDonald; Kathryn Vculek; Kiel (Andrew Standaert) Thedford, Kevin (Vanessa) Thedford; and Kallen and Kade Snodgrass. Great-grandchildren are Zach, Parker and Madelyn Schovanec and Elisabeth MacDonald. Betty also had many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Waukomis Volunteer Fire Department with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

Condolences may be made to the family online at WWW.Brown-Cummings.com
