September 22, 1950 - February 11, 2021

The Mass of Christian Burial Celebrating and Honoring the life of Rodney E. Semrad, 70, of Waukomis, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2021, in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, with Father Mason officiating. Rosary will be held 5:30 p.m. today in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home, with Deacon Tony Crispo officiating. Burial will follow services in the Waukomis Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Rodney was born September 22, 1950, to Ernest T. Semrad and Marie (Fuxa) Semrad in Waukomis, Oklahoma, and passed from this life February 10, 2021, in Waukomis, Oklahoma.

Rodney was raised and educated in Waukomis, graduating from Waukomis High School with the class of 1968. He attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with a degree in Dairy Science. He was a member of the Farmhouse Fraternity.

He was married to Janice Jindra August 28, 1976, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, and from that union came one daughter, Holly. After college he returned to the family farm where he farmed, dairied, and raised registered Black Angus cattle until his death. He was a very hard worker.

He is survived by one daughter, Holly Varnell, of Prague; grandchildren, Braden, Lauren, Miley, and Bentley; two brothers, Myron and Marilyn Semrad, of McKinney, Texas, and Dr. Sidney and Angela Semrad of Mesa, Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Daily Bread, with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
