Eugene Merle Pommitt
THE ENID EVENTS
Enid, Garfield Co., OK
October 3, 1929
Submitted by: Emily Jordan

Fairmont Vicinity: Eugene Merle, son of Fred and Anna Pommitt, was born August 23, 1925, and departed this life Sept. 25, 1929, age 4 years, 1 month, and 2 days. The little one was stricken 3 months ago with the dreadful disease of sarachoma and although all that surgical skill and wisdom could do, and all that a loving father and mother could do, was done for him, it was all in vain, and the death angel came Wednesday morning at 1 o'clock and took the painracked sufferer home to heaven. Eugene was given to God in Christian baptism at the Presbyterian church in Enid in infancy. He leaves to mourn his death, his father and mother, one brother, Warren, 8 years old, his grandparents, and a host of other relatives.
Short funeral services were held at the home Thursday afternoon with Dr. Edwards, of Enid Presbyterian church in charge, after which he was taken to the Christian church at Waukomis where the main services were conducted. The remains were interred in the Waukomis Cemetery.
The entire community is sorrowing with Mr. and Mrs. Pommitt in the loss of their baby son, who was such a bright cheerful little fellow and the very light and sunshine of their home.
