OBITUARY
Alvin Pearl King was born in Clark County, Ill., on Sept. 12, 1896.
He was married Dec. 12, 1917, to Miss Margaret Caldwell, daughter of Chas. Caldwell, residing northeast of Drummond. He came to Oklahoma with his parents in 1898, and resided with them until about three weeks prior to his death. He registered on June 5th and was called to Camp Logan, Houston, Texas, for military duty on Sept. 4th. On Sept. 24th he was taken seriously ill with pneumonia and died on the 26th. His wife and his wife's father were with him at the time of his death.
He was converted about three years ago.
The remains were brought to Waukomis for burial. The funeral was held from the Methodist Church, the pastor, Rev. Demeree officiating, and was attended by a large number of people. The flora offerings were many and beautiful, testifying to the love and esteem in which the deceased was held. He was buried with the flag, and is the first of our boys in the service to give up his life.
He leaves a wife, father, mother and sister, Mrs. C.A. ___en of this place as well as a host of friends to mourn his loss.
