Recent Deaths
The funeral for Gustav "Gus" Elmer Krienke, 93, formerly of Enid, was held at 3 p.m. yesterday, December 10, 2005, at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Revs. Gary Hendrickson and David Krepel officiated. Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements were by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.
He was born Sept. 1, 1912, on a farm near Enid to Herman and Elizabeth Rutz Krienke and passed Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005, in Cimarron Nursing Home, Kingfisher. He married Adalyn Holtmann June 1, 1947. They farmed in the Texas panhandle until retirement in 1976, when they moved to Enid.
He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church being baptized and confirmed there. He treasured his church and his family and enjoyed farming, fishing and playing pitch at Men's Club.
Surviving are his children, Mike (Renie) Krienke of Enid, Paul (Karen) Krienke of St. Louis, Dan (Katie) Krienke of Perryton, Texas, Beth Thomas of Oklahoma City and Lois (Ronnie) Maxwell of Omega; ten grandchildren, John, Amy, Stacie, Stephanie, Hollie, Charles, Charlie, Jane, Chad and Brad; six great-grandchildren and one brother Arthur Krienke of Lahoma.
He was preceded in death by his wife Adalyn six years to the day on Dec. 8, 1999, one daughter, Phyllis, his parents, four brothers, and four sisters.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to either Lutheran World Relief Fund or Russell-Murray Hospice.
