The funeral for Ervan J. Holtmann, 82, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Gary Hendrickson will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
He was born Jan. 28, 1924, in Enid to the Rev. J.H. Holtmann and Kathryn Mandalek and died Monday, June 26, 2006, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.
He married Bettie L. Cooper Nov. 20, 1942, in Muskogee. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and active in Lutheran Laymen's League. He also was a member of Kiawanis and Garden Club of Enid. He taught at Lutheran High School in St. Louis and Lawton High School. He was a professor at Texas Tech, Lubbock, Texas, and also taught in the business department at Indiana State University, Terre Haute, Ind. He retired in 1984. He served in World War II and was a retired Air Force reserve officer.
Surviving are his wife, Bettie; two daughters, Penny Finses of Enid and Patti Lawson of Elmendorf Air Force Base, Anchorage, Alaska; one son, Jon Holtmann of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Esther Reim and Adalyn Kreinke, and two brothers, Henry and Harold.
