End Came Quickly
Acute Dilation of the Heart Causes Death of Mrs. Harrington
WAS OLD RESIDENT
Never have we been called upon to record a sadder or more untimely death than that of Mrs. F.S. Harrington, wife of Dr. W.E. Harrington, which occurred last Saturday afternoon at the University hospital in Enid, of acute dilation of the heart.
Frances Sophie Taylor was born near Knoxville, Tenn., February 24, 1877, where she grew to womanhood. She was married to Dr. J.H. Brantley at Knoxville in 1894, coming to Oklahoma in 1900 and locating in Lahoma, where the doctor practiced his profession until one year before his death, in 1904, and where he and his wife were counted among the most promised and respected people of the community.
After the death of Dr. Brantley, together with her two little daughters, she returned to the old home in Tennessee to live, later moving to China Springs, Tex., and finally returning to Lahoma a year and a half ago.
On March 24, 1910, Mrs. Brantley and Dr. William E. Harrington of Lahoma were married, and the ten short months of their married life were supremely happy ones for them both.
A week ago last Friday, Mrs. Harrington was taken to Dr. Mayberry's hospital, suffering with chronic appendicitis and an operation was performed the next morning.
Suffered dilation of the heart while in the hospital and died
The funeral was held at the M.E. church Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock and many people who could not get inside the building stood on the outside during the services. Rev. C.G. Nelson, of Kremlin, but formerly pastor of the church here, and a personal friend of the family, preached an eloquent sermon and paid a high tribute to the virtues and consistent Christian life of the deceased.
A long procession followed the body to its last resting place in the family lot in Sunny Side cemetery.
