July 13, 1955 - November 21, 2023

The graveside service, as per his request, for David Blakley, 68 year-old Douglas resident is 10:00AM Monday, November 27, 2023 in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Douglas. Rev. Edward Menasco officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

David was born July 13, 1955 in Enid to Carl and Violette (Dunn) Blakley and died Tuesday, November 21, 2023 in his home in Douglas. After graduating high-school David continued to farm the family homestead. He continued this until his death. He loved farming and his cattle. He was also a huge Moline Tractor enthusiast. if you wanted to know anything about Moline tractors....David was the man to see!

He was a long-time member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed Antique Machine Shows (especially Minnesota Moline Shows).

He was instrumental in preserving the "Ruts on the Trail" at the Santa Fe Trail Museum in Larned, Kansas.

He is survived by nieces Abbey and Audra, and nephew Abel Blakley. God-son James Semrad, good friends Ryan and Eric Koehn, and God-daughters, Marie Bond, Lora Maly, and Kaley Hartung. As well as a host of other dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Danny.

Memorials may be made through Henninger-Hinson to the Ruts on the Santa Fe Trail Museum.
