Jerry Clayton Schmidt

August 21, 1948 - October 7, 2020

Funeral services for Jerry Schmidt, of Enid, will be held 10:00 am, Monday, October 12, 2020 at Enid First United Methodist Church, with Pastor Devon Krause officiating. Burial will follow for the immediate family at the Paradise Cemetery in Breckenridge, OK. Services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Jerry was born August 21, 1948 in Enid to Harold and Fern (Breihan) Schmidt and passed away October 7, 2020.He graduated from Garber High School in 1966. Jerry received his BS degree in Mechanized Agriculture from Oklahoma State University in 1970. In 1969, he married Sue Freese of Lucien, OK. Jerry worked for the Farm Credit System from 1970-1985. He joined Security National Bank in 1985, until his retirement in 2014. Upon retirement he continued farming full time. Jerry served on a number of boards over the duration of his tenure. He was an avid OSU fan, and enjoyed attending Cowboy football and basketball games.

Jerry is survived by his wife of fifty- one years, Aneta Sue Schmidt ; sons, Byron Schmidt and his wife Amy of Stillwater, MN, Darin Schmidt and his wife Gail of Elk City, OK, Jeff Schmidt of Houston, TX; seven grandchildren, Aden, Mason, Olivia, Gavin, Jessica, Jenna, Adason Schmidt, brother, Lynn Schmidt of Dacula, GA ; a host of other loving family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial can be made to First United Methodist Church or The Commons, with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the funds.

Condolences can be made to the family at ladusauevans.com, as well as live streaming of the service for those who may not feel comfortable attending at the church.
