Paradise Cemetery


ENID — Graveside service for Joaquin “Mike” Robinette will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2012, in Paradise Cemetery, near Breckinridge. Rev. Vernon Lee will officiate. Service is under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Visitation with family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. today, June 26, 2012, at the funeral home.

Mike, son of Welden and Wilma Robinette, was born Feb. 28, 1944, in Los Angeles, Calif. He died Friday, June 22, 2012, at the home of his daughter, Angel.

He joined the Army during high school and fought in Vietnam. After two tours, he was medically retired.

He liked to build model planes, read, draw and collect elephants. Mike especially loved his coffee and visiting with friends. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner. He also was a member of VFW, DAV and American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mike is survived by his companion of 26 years, Helen Shriver; five children, Kyle Robinette, Brian Shriver, Angel Bartlett, Amber Robinette and Jeffrey Shriver; six grandchildren, Aarron, Faith, Hope, Kelby, Reed and Trinity; brother, Maurice; sisters, Renee and Joaquetta; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; countless friends and his beloved dog, Toby.

Memorials can be given through the funeral home to OMRF, heart division, or Shriners Hospital for Children.
