Paradise Cemetery


Graveside service for Betty Ann (Green) Johnson, 80, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at Paradise Cemetery in Breckinridge, Okla., with the Rev. Stanley Jenkins officiating. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Betty was born to Albert and Erma (Robinson) Green on June 13, 1934, on the family farm south of Hunter, Okla., and passed away Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014, in Enid.

Betty grew up on the family farm and began her formal education at Prairie Valley rural school, and then graduated from Garber High School. Her interest in education led her to Central State College in Edmond, where she received her bachelor’s degree in education.

Betty married Donald Johnson and they had two sons, Jimmy John and Allen Dean.

Betty taught school for seven years in Missouri, and 24 years in the Garber Public School System.

Betty was a member of Garber Christian Church. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, mowing her yard and talking to neighbors. Her grandkids were the joy of her life.

She is survived by her sons, Jimmy and JoAnn Johnson of Enid, and Allen and Holly Johnson of Florida; grandchildren, Kayla Zelnieck and Ryan; three great-grandchildren, Hayden, Hudson and Harper Zelnieck; and sister, Alberta Echols and Dale of Hominy.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; and brother, Kenneth.

Memorials may be made to OMRF, cancer division or Hospice Circle of Love.
