ENID, Okla. - John B. Lyons, 70, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2002.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Dreamland Cemetery of Canyon, Texas. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home of Enid.
Mr. Lyons was born March 29, 1931, in Pampa, Texas, to R.W. and Velma Moore Lyons. He attended schools in Pampa, Canyon and Stratford, Texas,
before graduating from Kemper Military Academy in 1950.
He attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, before graduating from West Texas State University at Canyon in 1958. He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the Army in Korea and Japan.
He married Helen Verner on Sept. 4, 1955. They made their home in Pampa for several years before he went to work for Diamond Shamrock Corp. He retired in 1987 and they later made their home in Enid.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; two brothers; and a
sister.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, John Lyons and wife, Clydene, of
Enid, Steven Lyons and wife, Sheree, of Edmond and Michael Lyons and wife,
Sheryl, of Portales, N.M.; grandchildren, Melissa Glenn, Emily Lyons,
Ethan Lyons, Trevor Lyons, Megan Lyons and Tara Lyons; and two great-
grandchildren, Dylan Glenn and Shelbee Glenn.
The family suggests memorials be to Hospice Circle of Love in care of the funeral home.
