Funeral services for Betty J. Rogers of El Reno were held Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006, in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John V. Chennault, pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in Little Cemetery in Seminole.
Mrs. Rogers was born Aug. 24, 1926, in Stroud. She died on Aug. 16, 2006, at Parkview Hospital. She had lived in Stroud and Seminole, moving to Nashville, Tenn., in 1984 and to El Reno in 1991. Betty had worked as a waitress and was the former owner/operator of the Union Bus Station Cafe in Seminole. She was a member of First Baptist Church and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Mary C. (Holt) Hill; a sister, Lois Voegle; brothers, Billy Hill and Raymond Hill; and a son, Jimmy Lewis.
Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Lee and husband, Gary of Portland, Tenn.; a brother, Jack Hill and wife, Belva of Tulsa; sisters-in-law, Mary Hill of El Reno and Mamie Hill of Seminole; grandsons, Matthew and Marshall Thurman, both of Portland, Tenn.; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
