Funeral service for John Orion "Johnny" Youngblood, 87, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. today, March 1, 2011, at Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Bobby Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

He was born Jan. 16, 1924, in Roby, Texas, to William Edgar Youngblood and Gertie Bell McWhirter and passed away Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at his home. He graduated from Roby High School in 1942. He entered the United States Navy and served in World War II in the Pacific Theater

After returning home, he married Martha Sue Jackson Sept. 11, 1947, in San Angelo, Texas. She passed away Jan. 4, 2005. They had two sons. Johnny worked in the oil and gas industry all his life and followed that work, which led him to Lamont, Okla., in 1957. He was employed by Earlsboro Oil and Gas as an employee for 23 years and then as a consultant on drilling and completion operations throughout western and northern Oklahoma.

After the death of his first wife, Johnny married Nadine Taylor March 25, 2006, in Clyde, Texas. They resided in Enid until his death. Johnny was a member of Lamont Methodist Church and a 32nd Degree Mason at Lamont Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Nadine of the home; one son, Paul Youngblood and wife Gayla of Enid; three granddaughters, Holli Schultz and husband Brad of Hillsdale, Kelli Schovanec and husband Tyler of Cherokee and Kerri Johnson and husband Dustin of Enid; four great-grandchildren, Landon, Caleb and Caden Schultz and Addison Schovanec; two sisters, Mildred Grindstaff of Medford, Ore., and Jerry Hamilton and husband Leroy of Hemet, Calif.; and one brother, Walton Youngblood and wife Lee of Santa Fe, N.M.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 57 years, Martha Sue Youngblood; and son, Orion Bruce Youngblood
