Jacob Lester "Jake" Young
March 29, 1929 ~ January 2, 2013

ENID, Okla. - Funeral service for Jacob "Jake" Lester Young, 83, of Enid, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, in the Ladusau-Evans Chapel. The Rev. David Shaw and Mr. Jim LeForce will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Jake was born March 29, 1929, in Carmen, Okla., to Dave and Elizabeth Young and passed away on Jan. 2, 2013, in the St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. He joined the United States Army 307 Military Police Battalion in November of 1952 and received an honorable discharge in November 1954. Jake married Verda Robinson in 1953 in San Antonio. He farmed 50 years in the Carmen area and worked for Helena Crabtree Correctional Center for 26 years.

He is survived by his wife, Verda, of the home; two sons, Larry Young of Okeene and Rod Young of El Reno; two daughters, Mitzi Edster of Carmen and Stacy Sheik of Fairview; 10 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Fritz Young and sister, Katherine Frech.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association with Ladusau-Evans serving custodian of the funds. Online condolences may be made at www.ladusauevans.com .
