ENID — The funeral for William David Ussery, 81, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Calvary Baptist Church, with Pastor Steve Williams and Pastor Everett Ohls officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with arrangements by Anderson - Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with family will be 5:30-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

William was born to James Pete and Stella Mae (Brown) Ussery on Feb. 1, 1930, in Earlsboro, Okla., and died Friday, March 4, 2011, at his home in Enid.

Bill grew up in Okmulgee. After high school graduation he served in the Navy, Army Air Corps and Air Force.

On Feb. 3, 1951, he married Verna Chattam, and they had six children. Bill served as head of transportation for the military until his retirement in 1968. They made their home in Enid. Verna passed away in 2004, and Bill later married Alberta Maxine Daughtery.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and DAV.

Surviving are his wife, Alberta of the home; six children, William David Ussery III of Clearwater, Fla., Deborah Ciccone (Fred) of Moyock, N.C., Donna Sanchez (Ruben) of Macon, Ga., Doris Huary of Okmulgee, Darrell Ussery of Enid and Dwain Ussery (Deborah) of Bethany; six stepchildren, Bobby Robinson (Namson) of San Antonio, Texas, Betty Robinson (Dan) and Billy Robinson (Terry), all of Wichita, Kan., Bernice Robinson of Topeka, Kan., Belinda Frazier (Brad) of Newbern, N.C., and Bonnie Wall of McPherson, Kan.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two brothers, Blaine Walters of Ada and David Ussery of Gore; and two sisters, Betty Bristol of Jenks and Minnie Hoyt of Kalspell, Mont.

Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Verna; grandson, Travis Wood; brothers, J.T. Hughes, Junior Ussery, Bobby Ussery and Virgil Walters; and sisters, Opal Foster and Delores Giggini.

Memorials may be made to Ross Hospice or OMRF, Alzheimer's or cancer.
